Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions we hear from facility managers and business owners in Leavenworth, Lansing, and Basehor.
Choosing a commercial cleaning vendor means trusting a team with your keys, your space, and your reputation. We think you should have real answers before you sign anything. If your question isn’t covered here, send us a message — an owner will respond the same day.
Pricing & Contracts
How much does commercial cleaning cost in Leavenworth, Kansas?
Pricing depends on three factors: square footage, cleaning frequency, and scope of work. For the Leavenworth-Lansing-Basehor area, most small to mid-sized offices fall between $150 and $400 per visit, with pricing often calculated between $0.08 and $0.15 per square foot for recurring service. The only way to give you a real number is to walk your facility together. We offer a free on-site walkthrough and deliver a detailed, itemized quote within 48 hours.
Do you require a long-term contract?
No. Our standard service agreements are month-to-month with 30 days’ written notice to cancel. We don’t lock you into multi-year commitments. Our job is to earn your business every month — if we stop doing that, you shouldn’t be trapped in a contract.
What’s included in the free walkthrough and quote?
A walkthrough is an on-site meeting at your facility, usually 20–30 minutes. We listen to your standards, look at the space, and take notes on anything specific — access protocols, problem areas, scheduling constraints, special requirements. Within 48 hours, you receive a written proposal with scope, frequency, and transparent pricing. No obligation, no pressure, no hidden fees added later.
Are there any hidden fees or surprise charges?
No. Every recurring service item is listed in your quote before you sign. Any work outside the original scope — deep cleans, one-time events, post-construction cleanup — is always quoted and approved in writing before we do it. You never receive a surprise invoice.
Services & Scheduling
What types of businesses do you clean?
We clean offices, medical and dental practices, retail stores, and post-construction commercial projects across Leavenworth County. Our clients include professional service offices, healthcare practices, boutiques and specialty retailers, real estate offices, and commercial contractors handling tenant build-outs. We focus exclusively on commercial spaces — no residential cleaning.
Do you clean during business hours or after hours?
Most commercial cleaning happens after hours — evenings, overnight, or early mornings — so your team walks into a clean space without disruption. We can also clean during business hours if your operation requires it (for example, medical facilities that close early or retail with specific access needs). We build the schedule around how your business actually runs.
How often will you clean my facility?
We offer daily (5 nights per week), 3x per week, weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly service. The right frequency depends on your facility’s traffic, industry, and standards. For most small offices, 2–3 times per week is the sweet spot. We’ll make a recommendation during the walkthrough based on what we see.
Do you handle one-time deep cleans or post-construction cleanup?
Yes. We handle move-in/move-out cleans, seasonal deep cleans, post-event cleaning, and full post-construction cleanup across all three phases (rough, final, and touch-up). Contractors and property managers can book these independent of any recurring service agreement.
Do you provide cleaning supplies and equipment, or do we?
We provide all equipment and commercial-grade supplies as part of the service — you don’t need to stock anything. If you want paper products, soap, or specific consumables restocked as part of our visits, we can either supply them at cost or use whatever brand you prefer to keep on hand.
Do you use green or eco-friendly cleaning products?
We use professional-grade cleaners that meet commercial industry standards, and we’re happy to use Green Seal-certified or EPA Safer Choice products on request. If your facility has specific product requirements — allergen-free, fragrance-free, hospital-grade disinfection — tell us at the walkthrough and we’ll build the scope around it.
Crews, Trust & Safety
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
Yes. First City Cleaning LLC carries general liability insurance, a janitorial bond (which protects you against employee theft), and workers’ compensation coverage for our entire crew. Certificates of insurance are available on request, and we can name your business as an additional insured on request as well.
Do you run background checks on your crew?
Yes. Every person who enters a client facility passes a background check before their first shift. For medical and dental clients, we also have our team sign confidentiality acknowledgments and follow HIPAA-aware protocols around patient information, charts, and screens.
Will the same crew clean my facility each visit?
Yes. Consistency is one of the core reasons clients leave their previous cleaners and come to us. You’ll see the same faces every visit. If a crew member is sick or on vacation, we send someone cross-trained on your facility’s specific scope — not a random fill-in.
What happens if we’re not satisfied with the cleaning?
You reach out and we fix it — typically the same day or the next visit. Every client has a direct line to an owner, not a call center. We also conduct regular quality inspections so issues get caught before you have to report them.
How do you handle keys, alarm codes, and building access?
We follow your facility’s specific access protocols, whatever they are — keypads, alarm codes, keys, card access, or an on-site contact. All access credentials are stored securely, shared only with crew members assigned to your building, and revoked immediately if a crew member leaves the company.
